Former Patriots linebacker Ted Johnson joins dozens of experts and advocates in support of S.546/H.968
The Brain Injury Association of Massachusetts thanks everyone who attended the hearing last week in support of S.546/H.968: Improving Lives by Ensuring Access to Brain Injury Treatment (Cognitive Rehabilitation). A surprise guest, Ted Johnson, former Patriots linebacker and Superbowl champion joined the many medical experts and individual survivors who spoke in favor of the bill.
While the hearing was an important early step in the legislative process, we need to build on our momentum and ask the members of the Joint Financial Services Committee to vote in favor of the bill so that it can advance to the next committee.

You may have seen coverage of the hearing on WCVB Channel 5. Ted Johnson also appears on WGBH’s Greater Boston with Jim Braude this week as well. Below are clips of both segments.
This bill will ensure that commercial health insurance plans include post-acute cognitive rehabilitation for individuals with brain injury. Today, there are Massachusetts residents who do not have this coverage under their current plans – this legislation would mean better access to care for people who need it!
