How do you figure out what exercises work best?
Neuro-Fit staff will meet with you for an initial evaluation to discuss your lifestyle, habits, and routine. Our primary goal is to understand what is most important to you such as returning to hobbies, becoming more independent, or maintaining your current health status. After learning more about you, we come up with functional movements that will help you work towards certain focus areas. For example, if you are having a hard time reaching up onto higher shelves when putting dishes away we will incorporate some balance and upper body strength training to improve this task.
How can Neuro-Fit help me?
It can help in multiple ways – physical, cognitive, and socio-emotional:
Enhance physical function (strength, flexibility, coordination, endurance)
Focus on balance, gait, and mobility for fall prevention
Improve cardiovascular health
Boost memory, attention, and mental well-being
Better sleep quality
Motivation and community engagement
I have a caretaker that helps me with certain tasks throughout the day. Is the caretaker required to attend Neuro-Fit sessions with me?
We do not require a caretaker to be present unless you need assistance with medication administration or hygiene related activities like using the restroom.
Can I use health insurance to attend Neuro-Fit?
Since we are not a clinical service, we do not bill through health insurance providers.
Where are you located?
We host classes at our Neuro-Wellness Center in Lexington, as well as the YMCAs in Beverly and Marblehead.
