Lindsay Weir, MS, CBIS, CPT, CIFT: Director, Neuro-Wellness and Education
Lindsay started at SLI in 2020 as a Graduate Fellow, working with the Neuro-Fit Assisted Exercise Program. She graduated from Merrimack College in 2021 with a Master of Science in Exercise and Sports Science. She also received her Bachelor of Science in Human Physiology from Boston University in 2019. Lindsay is an ACSM Certified Inclusive Fitness Trainer (CIFT), which allows her to specialize in exercise programming for a wide range of populations including brain injury and beyond. She also holds an ACSM Exercise is Medicine (EIM) credential, which allows her to partner with clinical providers looking to transition their patients to a recreational setting or encourage more movement in their health and wellness routines. Lindsay has previous experience as adjunct faculty at Endicott College where she has taught Exercise for Special Populations in the School of Sport Science.
Lindsay is passionate about exercise as medicine and has focused her career on helping people with all levels of ability exercise safely and effectively. She looks forward to a future where individuals with a brain injury or neurological condition can reach their highest level of wellness without discrimination or setbacks. Through her work at SLI, she helps make this vision a reality by improving our wellness programs for residents, community members, and staff.
Emily Willson, CBIS, CPT, PAPHS: Manager, Neuro-Wellness
Emily started as an intern in the Neuro-Fit Assisted Exercise Program in the Summer of 2021. She graduated from Denison University in 2022 with a Bachelor of Science in Biology and a minor in Psychology. During her time at Denison, she was a member of the Varsity Cross Country and Track & Field teams, and she remains an avid runner.
Emily has experience working with people of many different ages and populations in a variety of healthcare and wellness settings. Additionally, she has worked in research roles involving psychology and public health. Emily is a Certified Personal Trainer and a Certified Physical Activity in Public Health Specialist. Emily is also pursuing her Master of Public Health, helping her to continue to identify the connections between physical activity and public health, especially in special populations. She hopes to use this to increase awareness surrounding the benefits of exercise, with the aim to improve access to programs like Neuro-Fit. Emily is passionate about the importance of exercise for everyone, and enjoys sharing her love for it with others.
Meredith MacDonald, BS, CPT: Manager, Neuro-Fit North Shore
Meredith started as an intern in 2020 working in the Neuro-Fit Assisted Exercise Program. She graduated from Salem State University in 2020 with a Bachelor of Science in Sport and Movement Science with a concentration in pre-rehabilitation. Meredith has had experience in school, gym, and at-home settings in her related field dealing with individuals who struggle cognitively and/or physically. During her time at Salem State, she was a player for the Women’s Tennis Team.
Along with working full-time for SLI, she is also a personal trainer where she trains individuals at all different ages. Meredith is also furthering her education in nutrition to further understand the interactions between diet and exercise. Meredith is passionate about fitness and teaching healthy lifestyle habits to her clients and special populations. She wants to help individuals who are struggling with overall health and guide them in the right direction.
